A girl can dream, right?

Here you have my oldest brother's highschool girlfriend's oldest daughter.  (hee, hee)

I had the lovely opportunity to take her senior photos.  She is pretty.  REALLLLY pretty.  While taking her photos if I closed my eyes really tight (which isn't generally suggested while taking pictures) I could pretend I was some high class fashion photographer.  It was fun.  REALLLLY fun. 

I wish I was super-stylish like her.  I wish I could pull of that hot red lipstick like her.  I wish I was a high class fashion photographer.  That would be fun. 

However, somehow I doubt those fancy-schmancy fashion people would let me bring along the off-spring.  Hmm... nevermind.

Photography Lesson #1...

Are you a budding photographer looking for tips and tricks?  Well, here's one for you... 

Try your best to HOLD STILL while taking photos.  Seems like a no brainer right?  In fancy photography "terms" it's called camera shake.  Even your own breath or or heartbeat can make your camera move ever so slightly causing a blurry picture.   In my terms it's called, "This family was so fun they had me laughing through the whole session.  I was struggling to stop laughing long enough to capture the moment and hold my camera still!  Such a happy, fun-loving family!  Let me show you what I mean...

Waiting... (Naylor-Kennedy, Utah Wedding)

 
I decided an appropriate title for this post would be "Waiting"...  This beautiful couple has been waiting and waiting for this day to actually happen.  Believe it or not sometimes even true love has to wait.  I had been forewarned that I may get very short notice and was basically an "on call" photographer.  (I've heard of this for newborns, but a marriage?!)  :)  Well, the time finally came and I got a call literally 6 days before the wedding.  Of course I was honored to be a part of this special occasion.

  

This picture became one of my favorites of the whole day.  Here he is, "waiting" for the very last moments.  His beautiful bride arrived just after this picture was taken, and the rest is history...

 

Sharp Extended Family Session

Here's a math story problem for you:  Q: What do you get when you combine 26 people, 13 of them under the age of 9 plus FREEZING temperatures?  A: Why, a beautiful family photo of course!!

I am still in awe of these little troopers.  You could take a group that big in gorgeous weather and for sure at least one of the little ones will be looking away or crying!... But NOT these kiddos!  They knew Grandma wanted a family picture and they were happy to oblige.  I absolutely have to give some credit to my crew behind the camera... They worked wonders while I snapped away.  Maybe the math problem should have been:

13 kids + freezing temps + silly string, dancing and whoopie cushions = lovely picture!

 Anyway, here is the whole Sharp gang!  A "Sharp" lookin' bunch if you ask me!

I'm not baby hungry, I'm not baby hungry, I'm not, I'm not...

 May I proudly introduce you to "My" babies of 2012 thus far.  I have loved capturing these precious little girls and boys so fresh from heaven.  The best part is it hasn't made me even the slightest bit baby hungry.  Okay, I'm totally lying.

 

And here she is...little Camilla the miracle baby.  Her sweet NICU photo-shoot was actually in 2011, but she wasn't able to come home from the hospital until 2012 and she really wanted to be included in this post, so I'm going to let it slide. :) Isn't she about the tiniest, cutest thing ever?

I am a terrible blogger...

I know, I know.  I stink at blogging.  Let's just say the last few months have been busy.  Really busy.  When I stop and think about the blur of the last little while I almost can't believe we came out breathing on the other end...  Three of my 4 kids had birthdays (who planned that?!) -  I did lots & lots of photography (scale back next year Shelley) - I attended 3 family funerals (who planned that?!) -  My 9 year old landed himself in the hospital... again. (I've decided he is a turtle.  He MUST visit Jordan Valley Hospital once a year to return to the place of his birth).  Oh, and don't forget those two little things called Christmas & Thanksgiving! (holy cow).  But really, I'm sure that sounds a lot like the lives of everyone.  Life is busy for for all of us.  The difference is, some people are good at blogging about it and I'm not one of those people.  But, I want to be.  So hopefully in the coming months I can either catch up or just start fresh.  :) ... It's only 1 of about 35 new years resolutions though, so don't hold your breath.
